Here we are at the second installation of The Vaganova Files... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I just adore these videos and I think one day Baby Jesus & I are gonna have a long talk as to why my particular path in life didn't include being born in St. Peterburg and attending this School.
Alas, see below these young students taking their Graduation Exam in Grand Adagio. While some may see Exams as perfunctory, I am a big fan of them because I believe that in some senses they give you a finite structure to work within. It is quite difficult to do the hard work with no goal in site, and working on your own "at will"... this really makes ballet almost impossible. In fact I think it may be a good idea to administer this exam to myself just to motivate me. Care to join?
Also take note of the absolute perfect music, which makes such a difference in both facilitating the pleasure for the viewer and in facilitating the musicality for the dancer themselves. Even a talented, musical dancer can't succeed to un-musical and un-helpful music.
Enjoy.
