This is the one time of year when NYC releases its nostalgic charms on even the crankiest of souls. With the Grand Tree lighting up at Rockefeller Plaza, the ice-skaters circling about, Grand Central being full of bustling song and chant, and the wafting aromas of pine trees & roasting nuts filling the streets, one can not resist being taken in by the history, the tableau as it were, of the city's busiest uniting in Holiday Cheer.
Just today my good friend over at Bookish NYC spoke of purchasing her tree, and my other good friend Lauren treated me to her sneak preview of the best homemade Thin Mints since the Girl Scouts, a recipe I'm sure to replicate in the weeks to come. The message being, even we city dwellers need the time-tested comforts of snuggling up around the tree with a good book, some cookies & cocoa and a list of dreams for Santa!
