As you may have noticed I didn't post anything yesterday and that's because, rare as it is in these here parts, I really didn't have anything to bitch about. Can you believe it?
Its like some sort of rainbow just came and hung over me the whole day, beginning with me waking up and juicing (my new habit) and then in celebration of being healthy, I fixed myself a delicious brunch of sauteed steak with mushrooms. :) Then I piddled around the apartment, did some job searching and decided to head to the bookstore to do some magazine peeking, book hunting and eye-spying.
So there I was in the decorating section of Barnes & Noble -- trying to find the perfect paint color, YET AGAIN, and noticing a rather dapper gentleman looking rather seriously at an Interior Design mag. Then, as I reached across to get a magazine and he reached across to put his magazine back, I said "anything good in there?" and he just sort of stared at me a bit doe-eyed -- and so I chuckled nervously, repeated my ever-so-clever line and then he says..."do you not remember me"?
Well I had to take a second look and wouldn't ya know it -- there was a man I had dated a bit a few years previous -- except this time he had this amazing italian-esque scruffy beard thing going on and well, he seemed 'relaxed'. And what could of turned into one of those very awkward moments where you run into the exact person you wished you had NOT run into again, actually turned into one of the most pleasant evenings I've had in a while.
Now don't get all mushy on me -- it wasn't some grand romantic escapade, with kissing under the street lamps or anything, (yet!) but after leaving the bookstore we took a charming walk through Gramercy Park, had a small bite of Japanese, stumbled upon the mirror-gilded Trinity Broadcasting Network (which I swear looks like Donald Trump designed it himself ) and then had a few glasses of wine for dessert. Many hours later with the clock approaching midnight, we decided to conclude our little surprise meeting with a quick train back to Brooklyn, where we departed all kisses on the cheek and "talk to you soons".
And ya know, whether its sooner or later, its these lil' nuggets of coincidence that make New York that kind of place that I just, well .... (blush, sigh), Love.
AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWW! You know I can't help but get mushy gushy on you about this! ;)
